Taco Meat in the Crockpot

taco meat in the crock pot

I am a huge fan of my crockpot in the summer months! I hate heating up my kitchen, so I probably use my crockpot more during the summer than I do the winter! It’s the perfect way to serve a variety of meats without touching the oven! Plus, it’s easy! I can’t say no to that! 🙂

This is my super easy way to cook taco meat in the crockpot so that it will be ready in time for dinner!

With your crockpot on low, add your hamburger {or ground turkey} and one chopped onion. I cook for about 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. Then, I add my home made taco seasoning. I also add 1/4 cup of water for every one pound of meat. I let it simmer, stirring every now and then, for another 2-3 hours.

It turns out delicious every time! Enjoy!

I couldn’t either, Veronica! I actually have three so I can always make whatever I need 😉 You’re so welcome! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Ok…I feel silly for even asking this but I have to clarifiy. Do I put the ground beef in raw??

Don’t feel silly!! I would recommend cooking it just to be on the safe side. Then it can stay in there and just be ready as family or friends are ready to eat, especially at different times of the day or evening. Enjoy!
