This last week, Jorryn has been learning about George Washington Carver. We found George Washington Carver: The Peanut Wizard (Smart About History) that we both enjoyed reading. It had lots of facts not only about peanuts, but other plants and all the discoveries that Mr. Carver made. It wasn’t super detailed, but the visuals were great and I thought it was a good overview of his life!
We also read Click: A Story About George Eastman (Creative Minds Biography) which was really good! There was a lot more about George Eastman’s life! He was fascinating! I loved that he was a list maker! 🙂 His success was no accident – it was the product of excellent work ethic. He also was very generous as he became wealthy, but wasn’t out for fame. He made many of his donations anonymously. We both enjoyed this book very much!
Jorryn has continued to love this series! He read Geronimo Stilton #9: The Weird Book Machine, A Fabumouse School Adventure (Geronimo Stilton, No. 38), and Geronimo Stilton Saves the Olympics (Geronimo Stilton #10) over the last couple of days. He was excited to find out they have also branched into a comic book style for the Saves the Olympics and the Weird Book Machine. He also watched the Geronimo Stilton Volume 1 (Import DVD set) which he totally loved!
