Jorryn is reading The Story of Inventions for part of science class. I love the drawings and how the facts are broken into easy to read snippets. It’s fun to discuss what he learns each day after reading.

American Tall Tales is filled with just that! This is one of our read alouds. There are many tales I haven’t heard in many years, which is fun to read together!

Electricity and Magnetism is another book Jorryn is reading for science. This is the first time he’s learned about electricity in depth. We’re also been able to do some hands on experiments, which he’s enjoyed.

The Great Turkey Walk is Jorryn’s current read alone. He’s enjoying the story and I often hear him giggling while reading.

Jorryn is working on Lincoln: A Photobiography for party of history class. I love studying the Civil War and reading about one of my favorite men in history: Lincoln. It’s great to share that with Jorryn!

Across Five Aprils continues our history reading. It’s the unforgettable story of Jethro Creighton — a brave boy who comes of age during the turbulent years of the Civil War.
