Honey Oat Bread {In the Bread Machine!}

honey oat bread recipe

Baking in Your Bread Machine: Honey Oat Bread.

I am all about easy. With three little boys underfoot, I don’t have time for long, complicated recipes. That doesn’t mean that I want to skimp on taste though! When I saw a recipe for oat pull apart rolls on Money Saving Mom, I thought they looked delicious.. but that they would take more time than I could give them. So I tweaked the recipe a little, used my bread machine and loved the result! Here’s how to make this amazing bread!

Honey Oat Bread {In the Bread Machine!}
Recipe type: Baking
Prep time:
Cook time:
Total time:
  • 2 ¼ cups hot water
  • 3 Tablespoons butter, cubed
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 packages instant active yeast (1 ½ Tablespoons)
  1. Combine all ingredients in a 2-pound bread machine in the order listed. I have used this recipe on both the 80 minute setting and the regular setting, which takes three hours in my machine.

    wow! two packages of yeast? is it because of the added oats? I’ll have to try this one too! I love my bread machine for making the dough! that is the most time consuming part. Like you I have three kids and I work full time, so I don’t have time to babysit the dough. That’s where I think breadmachines ROCK!! I bake all of my breads in my oven.

      Cool! I love using my bread machine year round, especially in the summer so I don’t have to heat up the kitchen! 🙂
