Books We’re Reading This Week 7/16

We picked up a lot of books this week! We’re loving ALL of them so far and Jorryn is tearing through two books a day. I love seeing him enjoying reading so much! It’s delightful! Here are our picks this week:

Jorryn is continuing to love Geronimo Stilton books! He is almost done with the whole series and I know he’s not looking forward to being finished. He picked up The Mouse Island Marathon (Geronimo Stilton, No. 30) and finished it in a couple of hours. He also finished Thea Stilton and the Prince’s Emerald: A Geronimo Stilton Adventure and Thea Stilton Special Edition: The Journey to Atlantis: A Geronimo Stilton Adventure — he was REALLY excited that it said “Special Edition”! He was also found Geronimo Stilton #12: The First Samurai, which is like a comic book! We both love the crazy colors and fonts! Jorryn loves the stories and mystery! It’s a win-win.

When we saw By Judy Blume: Double Fudge on the shelf, Jorryn said, “do you really think it’s about chocolate?!” Hehe, this boy is definitely not adopted! Since we like other Judy Blume books, he also picked up Superfudge!

Since Jorryn loves to get a good series started, we checked out My Weird School Daze #1: Mrs. Dole Is Out of Control!. So far, he’s enjoying it!

Since we loved the movie, Jorryn was excited to pick up How to Train Your Dragon: How to Cheat a Dragon’s Curse. He’s now on the lookout for the rest of the series!

Jorryn asked to look for a good mystery series, so he was excited to find The Cahill Files. He picked Operation Trinity (39 Clues: The Cahill Files, Book 1) and is ready for book 2 already!

When I saw the beautiful cover of this book, I couldn’t resist. I had to read it! I chose Tumtum & Nutmeg: The Rose Cottage Tales as a read aloud for this week. We are adoring these books. I can’t wait to get the rest of the series and continue reading them aloud. I really enjoy the quiet time in the afternoon, right after lunch and before nap time where I cuddle the boys and read. It’s some of my most precious time that I’ll ever enjoy!

After the first book a couple of weeks ago, we loved starting The Case of the Purloined Professor (The Tails of Frederick and Ishbu) and seeing what adventures the rat brothers were on now! I hope the third book is published soon because we love these stories!

It is wonderful to teach your children the love of reading a book. It is beneficial for them through out life.
