ย Best Ever Natural Teething Remedy.

There is almost nothing worse than a teething baby. As a parent, you feel helpless. There is only so much you can do to provide relief for your baby and sometimes, none of that seems to work!

Shay has been teething for the last few weeks. Finally, two weeks ago, his bottom two teeth popped through his swollen gums. Zane got all of his teeth in pairs and it seems like Shay is going to follow that pattern. For a few days, Shay seemed relieved. Then, the cries started again. He has been out of sorts. Plus, his gums have been swollen, he’s been drooling, had a fever and been generally miserable.

In addition to using Hyland’s Homeopathic Teething Tablets and Motrin, we started using what I think is the best ever natural teething remedy! My mom found this and I am so glad she did because it’s really made a huge difference in Shay’s pain level {and therefore his demeanor!}

What You’ll Need for the Natural Teething Remedy

How to Make the Best Ever Natural Teething Remedy

Clove oil is a natural pain reliever. It is very strong so you need to dilute it well! I use 1/4 cup of almond oil for every two drops of Clove oil. Make sure that you mix this well. I test each batch on my own gums before rubbing it on Shay. It will feel a little tingly and you’ll be able to feel it almost numbing the area, like when you have dental work done. It is very, very important to mix well since it could blister if applied without enough carrier oil!! Once you have it mixed and tested on yourself, use your clean fingertip to rub on baby’s gums. Shay calms down within a few minutes of application every time we use this!

I store the mixed oils in a small, glass bottle so that I can easily reapply anytime. I reapply several times throughout the day, as it wears off.

I hope that this natural teething remedy helps bring your little one as much relief as it’s brought us!

    That sounds amazing!!! Now my question is with the almond oil, where you afraid of an allergic reaction? Our son, going on 17 months, still hasnt had peanuts, almonds, etc because I am so scared of him having a reaction! (no one is allergic in either side of the family) I know at some point we are going to have to try but I keep hearing different thing….age 1 is fine to if they have peanuts before age 3 they can grow a sensitivity to them…”I gave my granddaughter peanut butter at 6 months”. Ugh….

      We have a history of allergies in our family, but nothing to nuts. All three of my boys have used almond oil as a carrier oil for various things with no reaction. Now, you have to do what you feel comfortable with! ๐Ÿ™‚ You could use olive oil as well! It would change the taste a little, but EVOO is a great carrier oil too! ๐Ÿ™‚

    It’s funny that my first baby didn’t show any signs of teething, and my second, who is just over 1 yr old, hasn’t had too much of a problem. I little bit of fussiness the couple of days before they pop through, but nothing major. Nonetheless, this is a good tip to have on hand if the need arises!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for sharing.

    I will have to tell my Niece about this. Her little one is teething and having a hard time with it. When my daughter was little she didn’t get too fussy when she was teething either. Her daughters haven’t either so I guess some of us are just lucky. Thanks for sharing this one. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I love this idea! My question is at what age can you start using this? My 3 month old has already started teething: crazy drooling, chewing on hands, blowing bubbles, and extra cranky. My first two didn’t get any teeth till almost 1 year, so I haven’t had to do teething remedies so early before. Thanks for your help!

    I have also heard of coconut oil being used, could the 2 drops per 1/4 C be worth any carrier oil (obviously one that’s good for baby to ingest)?
